Celebrating the Children in our Community 

Better Banks is teaming up with your student’s school to celebrate children in our community who have displayed qualities of leadership, in both academics and citizenship.

How It Works

Each month your student’s school will select the Student of the Month. Better Banks will present the Student of the Month with a certificate commemorating their achievement!

If your student brings the certificate to any of our branch locations, we will deposit $50 into their account. If they do not already have an account, we invite you to bring your student to any of our branch locations to open an account and we will deposit $50 into their new account at that time.

Opening a savings or checking account early is an important lesson toward the value of saving money. Depositing change, birthday money, and holiday gifts will amount to a significant amount of money over time. 

Money seems to be a conversation many parents have trouble starting. However, studies have shown that when you talk to your kids about money, they are more likely to save and be financially secure later in life.

DISCLOSURE: The minimum to open an account is $50. A 1$5 reward will be deposited into your account monthly as long as the qualifications are met each statement cycle. 2ATM fee refunds up to $20 per cycle when qualifications are met. If you do not meet the qualifications per cycle, your account will still function as a free checking account; however, it will not receive ATM refunds. Qualifications are as follows: 1) Enroll in Digital Banking and log in at least once per month, 2) Have at least 10 Debit Card purchases (excluding ATM transactions) post and settle per qualification cycle, 3) 3Receive eStatements each qualification cycle. If you unenroll from eStatements or Digital Banking, your account may be changed to Simply Better Checking, and no rewards will be received.  No minimum balance is required. There is no monthly service charge. Available for students aged 13 to 23 currently enrolled in school. At age 24, the account will convert to Simply Better Checking. A parent or guardian must be a joint owner on any account under 18. Available to personal accounts only, only one account per social security number. Certain restrictions may apply.
