Benefitting the Children's Home
Better Banks is holding its annual Socktober Sock Drive, which benefits the families of the Children’s Home Association of Illinois. The Sock Drive is a month-long event that takes place every October, during which new socks of any size are collected for girls and boys of all ages.
Studies have shown that socks are the most needed but the least donated item of clothing. While many donate clothing to shelters and other non-profit organizations, very few donate socks. The Socktober Sock Drive was started to give back to the community, help fill that gap, and raise awareness of the need within our local communities.
Children’s Home services more than 1,700 children and families throughout our communities monthly. Providing new, clean socks to every child requires assistance from every community we serve. All Better Banks locations will be collecting new socks throughout October.
As a community bank, giving back to our local community is essential, especially to improve the overall economic well-being and make a positive difference in our local schools and communities.
